Wine glasses can be the perfect gift, party favor or even the perfect table decoration to make any gathering more upscale.

I have learn how to do crafts from watching a lot of tutorials and of course trial and error. You will definitely make plenty of those and that's ok. I always buy extras for that reason.

Below you'll find steps on how you can make the perfect gift or something special for yourself to have or even decoration for your event. I find there's a misconception with wine glasses. A lot of people think they are only for drinking wine. You can actually put anything you like to drink in a wine glass.

I use Cricut design space to create my designs and sometimes Canva. I create my designs and occasionally buy designs from artist to use. If you are creating items for sale please make sure you can use design for commercial use by checking if there are any trademark or copyright for design. If you purchase a design check for a commercial license or request one. Some Artist will have purchase a commercial license. Let's get crafting!

Supplies you'll need for project:

wine glass

permanent vinyl (651)

transfer tape

scissors

scraper

weeder tool

measure tape

Step 1

Create design

Step 2

Measure the area you would like to place your design. I cut my design at 3x2. It really depends on how you would like it to look on the item you are creating. If you have a mat that is no longer sticking you can always using scotch tape. Use tape on all four corners, you may have to tape in any area that is coming up off mat.

Step 3

Follow the steps to cut your design (make it, feed mat) Do not mirror design!

Step 4

Weed your design. I pull my vinyl off mat before weeding. I have seen others weed from the mat which I did too when I first started however I found it to be easier when I pull it off the mat. Trim down your design area before weeding. You can always use the scraps for another project or if you need to make any corrections plus it's so much easier to weed any project when you cut to size of design.

Step 5

Cut transfer tape to the size of design

Step 6

Using scraper to make sure transfer tape adheres to the entire design

Step 7

Pull transfer tape up slowly just in case some letters or artwork didn't stick to tape. If that happens just put the transfer tape back down and use scraper again or rub your finger over area.

Step 8

Before you place the design on glass you will need to clean glass with glass cleaner. After glass has been clean take transfer and place where you want it on glass. Be careful not to get too close until your ready because once you place it'll stick. If that happens you can remove it with a scraper but have to do it fast before it set. Do not place design close to drinking area.

Step 9

After you place design on glass. Smooth out with scraper or finger. I find it easier to go over design with my finger. Make sure there are no bubbles.

Step 10

Pull off transfer tape. After I pull off the transfer tape I go back over with my finger to make sure it's completely on glass. I don't use any sealant on my glasses. If you are doing a coffee mug you can use mod podge dishwasher safe gloss. Allow to cure for at least 48 hours.

I hope you find this tutorial helpful.
